Primarily photographs gathered from various sources for the 1930 book Gargoyles, chiméres, and the grotesque in French Gothic sculpture, by Lester B. Bridaham, an art appraiser who was at one time in charge of publicity at the Art Institute of Chicago. About half of the images in this collection were reproduced in the book. Special photography was carried out at the Augustiner Museum, Augsburg and in the cathedral in Freiburg.
